Suspected DUI Driver Plows into Target in Santa Clarita – No Injuries Reported, but What if Someone Had Been Harmed? Learn About the Rights of DUI Accident Victims in Santa Clarita Under California Personal Injury Laws

DUI2

A Santa Clarita man is under arrest for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, and although no one was injured in the incident that led to his arrest, some are wondering what would have happened if things had been worse. According to local news reports, in late April of this year, a man was detained by Santa Clarita police after he was believed to have crashed into a Target store. The Target store that the man ran into with his car was the store located on Magic Mountain Parkway, in Santa Clarita. According to Watch Sergeant Juan Muralles, “We received reports that a driver had collided in the parking lot at Target, and he had gotten out of the car and driven away, and that’s where deputies found him…They followed him into the Chick-fil-A parking lot, where they detained the driver and I believe ultimately arrested him.” Sargeant Muralles also indicated that the suspected DUI driver had “hit a nearby center median before driving into the Target parking lot and colliding with the building. He briefly exited his vehicle before reentering it and driving away to the Chick-fil-A near the Valencia Town Center, where he was arrested by authorities.” Although no injuries were reported in the DUI crash, there is no doubt that the situation could have been worse. Drunk driving car accidents are extremely dangerous, and often innocent pedestrians, other drivers, and bystanders are the victims of terrible and fatal DUI-involved car accidents in Santa Clarita. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what will happen in the DUI case against the allegedly drunk driver.
