Ohio Man Sentenced for Killing Mother of Three Children in Motorcycle-Involved Drunk Driving Car Accident

A sad and tragic drunk driving case came to a close in court a few weeks ago as an Ohio man was sentenced for his involvement in a fatal drunk driving car accident that killed a mother of three children and shook a community.  According to local news reports, Fox 19, now 38-year-old Samuel Ankrah pleaded guilty to drunk driving which led to the fatal accident that killed 27-year-old Jessica Taleff. The charges brought against Mr. Ankrah included aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated assault.

The tragic and fatal drunk driving car accident occurred close to one-year ago on September 10, 2023. At that time, Galen Taleff, the husband of Ms. Taleff, was riding a motorcycle on Ohio 747 near Duff Drive. Ms. Taleff was seated on the back of the motorcycle, with Mr. Taleff operating the motorcycle. At the same time, Mr. Ankrah was behind the wheel of his vehicle on Ohio 747 with a blood-alcohol level that was later revealed as .236, or over twice the legal limit under state laws. Mr. Ankrah collided with Mr. and Ms. Taleff on their motorcycle, killing Ms. Taleff, who died at the scene of the accident.

Of the horrific accident, Mr. Ankrah stated, “I just want to take responsibility for what has happened…I’m begging them to find it in their heart to forgive me. I don’t know what to do. No matter what I say or do, I can not bring the deceased person to life.” Of the drunk driving car accident and the untimely and avoidable death of Ms. Taleff, a family member said, “My life is forever altered by your actions, Samuel Ankrah, and I hope you pay dearly.”

Mr. Ankrah will spend at least 11 years in prison in connection with the drunk driving car accident and resulting death of Ms. Taleff, and his driver’s license has been suspended for the rest of his life.
